    Rabbit raid?

I wasn't responding to you, mom2jedi, but those who didn't address the issues I posted and were rather nasty. Sadly just 'saying' cohabitants cannot grant a search doesn't make it correct. They can. And as nasty as some cheerleaders were to me, I got an ANIMAL RIGHTS??? warning. Seriously. I...

    Rabbit raid?

I'm so glad I even took the time to carefully think out and word a post because I thought someone was actually interested in the facts as they were, and my opinion. Really, really glad.

    Rabbit raid?

The police were given a tour by her ex, a co-habitant. When they found violations they called for a warrant. Totally legal.

    Rabbit raid?

The reason I said the thread was getting to the "pointless" stage is because you cannot have a reasonable discourse with someone who uses between four and seven exclamation points at the end of every sentence. It comes across as if the person is yelling, angry, unstable...I have better things...

Oh, this is so pointless. Just pointless.

    Rabbit raid?

Not that I really desire to return to this thread...but.. On Debe's radio show appearance she confirmed the cage pictures were hers. She said she was proud of her barn and didn't think the waste was bad. That that level of waste is normal for a livestock operation. She also said that not all...

Go back and read it. So sorry that you seem unable to take this in.

    Rabbit raid?

Quote: None of these cases have anything to do with non married roommates. From the case of co-habitation and a search permitted by a tenant or co-habitator: (though honestly it's obvious you don't care about any of the facts or laws and you just want to argue and contradict those that don't...

    Rabbit raid?

It doesn't matter. Re-read your armchair law book. Not meaning that in a mean way, but if you don't know for sure, you just make yourself look foolish blindly defending someone and criticizing police who followed the law.

    Rabbit raid?

Quote: Opening a closed barn to search without a warrant or the barn owner there to give consent is an illegal search. He ex, who uses the house as his legal address and lives there, let them in. That would be legal. When they saw the conditions, they obtained a warrant. Proper procedure...

    Rabbit raid?

Breezy I 100% agree with you. There were no laws or rights violated. When you have that many rabbits, you have no excuse for not knowing the law. She could have called a lawyer at any time. The search was legal and she signed the rabbits over.

Those look nothing like the pictures she released that I saw.

    Rabbit raid?

On page six there is a link to a video she did about rabbits maybe a year before? It's absolutely her barn. http://rabbittalk.com/200-rabbits-seized-t4086-75.html I think my other issue, aside from the fact she said she was proud and had nothing to be embarrassed about, she stated that she...

    Rabbit raid?

Did you read the information on the warrant or listen to the radio shows? The police received a complaint. They knock on the door. Someone answers the door and identifies himself as living there and lets them into the barn. That was the ex-husband who has lived on the property for years. He...

    Rabbit raid?

If there's not a gag order issued by a judge, the police can issue whatever statements and info they like. When you break the law, your entitlement to privacy kind of goes downhill. I lost all ability to even try to support her when she said on the radio "I'm PROUD of my barn, those pictures...

    Rabbit raid?

Mom2Jedi, if it were the media, I'd probably be taking it with a grain of salt, but the pictures were released by the sheriff's office along with the sworn affidavit and warrant. Because of the backlash against them, the office (which already had a twitter page) released them there via Flickr...

    Rabbit raid?

I think my biggest issue with this whole thing is the conflicting information Debbie herself put out to the stress. If I were her lawyer I'd put a muzzle on her. In one interview she stated that every cage was marked with pink or blue ribbon to notate male/female rabbits along with a card...

    Rabbit raid?

I've been defending this lady too. I'll be eating some crow. Those cages are disgusting and unacceptable. And now that I've listened to the radio shows she gives, she has given quotes with completely conflicting information. She doesn't have auto-waterers. She does not clean cages daily...
