Does it matter if I put the opthalmic version of Terramycin or the ordinary Terramycin in my chickens ear canals?

A couple of my chickens have what looks to be a minor ear infection. I don't believe it is possible to purchase Neosporin in Thailand. Would Terramycin also do the trick for filling the ear with after cleaning out gunk? Or failing that, any ideas on other effective alternatives please...
