Ear Infection. Alternative to Neosporin Please.

A couple of my chickens have what looks to be a minor ear infection. I don't believe it is possible to purchase Neosporin in Thailand. Would Terramycin also do the trick for filling the ear with after cleaning out gunk? Or failing that, any ideas on other effective alternatives please.

Terramycin is oxytetracycline in petrolatum, so the antibiotic may fight a bacterial infection, while the petrolatum would smother any ear mites that also could cause an infection. Some recommend using hydrogen peroxide or vinegar in the ear to clean them out.

Does it matter if I put the opthalmic version of Terramycin or the ordinary Terramycin in my chickens ear canals?

It doesn't matter--the ophthalmic version is sterile and meant for the eyes. I would use either.
