looks like a case of only the strong survive. not all chicks that hatch in a nest will make it. siblings will push each other out so they get more food and grow stronger ect... but if the authority's will take them and have them tested its not a bad idea at all.

or just resist the urge to bring in any eggs or birds... work with what you have. its not going to matter if you sterilize your eggs or not when it comes to traceability if you bring in anything from an infected farm, your still going to be placed under quarantine at the very least.

I completely agree chicknmania! no idea how such a tight biosecured farm gets the virus... but I think its the farms giving it to the wild birds being exhausted through the crazy ventilation system... thats why im protecting my own...

it goes like this... you might see on bird sick then your entire flock is dead by the morning and any survivors will be culled.

All birds can be infected with Ai its just that every species shows dfferent symptoms. if I owned exotic parrots and such I would take EXTRA precautions when carring for them. its not just Ai to worry about there are MANY other bird diseases out there and well parrots cost a heck of alot more...
