    I'm not sure. Maybe because the dog would bite the deer and the deer might get away with injuries? I don't really know

    Ok, from this book... It says this... So not really an explanation, just that you can't. I know you can use a leashed dog to find a deer you shot but not to track or kill a live one

    Any reason for not hunting pheasant? Just not really interested in eating them so I won't hunt them. Not against it, just not that interested. I have plenty of meat in my freezer so I'll leave the pheasants alone

    No. We only hunt deer and in Ohio, it's illegal to hunt deer with a dog. If we hunted pheasants or something, then I would have trained him to hunt with me

    Thor, my weim, was raised around my chickens so I can trust him with them. The new ladies I have, he tries to play with when they are in their run. But if they free range, he leaves them alone. Cats on the other hand, are free game to him. If one comes in our fenced backyard, he'd kill it
