Okie hen, glad your eye is better. My hatch is all done. The last 2 did not hatch...they never developed. So we have 4 chicks and they seem to be doing fine....see pics....the first one is my mutt chick, I think....all the others look like pure australorps.

Okiehen, thanks for your advice. The kids and I made sure momma had water and food in the crate with her and we took off for Busch Gardens to meet the husband and have some fun. Getting out of there was probably the best thing or else I would be down in the coop watching every minute of it...

When I checked on my broody this am I discovered the first one out of 8 has hatched. Momma let me lift her a little for a quick peek. Looks like an australorp but only got a quick peek. I do have a question...I have been putting her out for a quick run around every morning but didn't attempt...

My broody australorp is due on June 24'th. She is sitting on 8 eggs - hoping to get some Buff a -lorps!! We have an australorp rooster, a few australorp hens and a few buff orpington hens so I'm hoping for a few mutts. We are gonna call them buff- a -lorps. Anyone know what they will look like?
