    Is this fowl pox?

I don't vaccinate either but I don't hatch alot. I have had some hardly show spots and others eyes swell shut and they quit eating....all next to each other. The boost in nutrition certainly can't hurt anything.

    Is this fowl pox?

Mine had the version last year that was just the moldy looking patches on the comb and wattles. This year the new birds had a more horrid version, but still a dry version. THey had lumps on their beaks and legs. If the bump on the beak was picked off or got knocked off it left a hole...

    Is this fowl pox?

I've read it spreads not only by mosquitos but also by scabs (or something) dropping from infected birds. For me, surrounded by swampy land, it is a moot point as the mosquitos are horrendous this year.

    Is this fowl pox?

Some people vaccinate but I do not. I am just going to let it run through mine and be done with it. There was someone on BYC that is from FL also that decided to vaccinate because, I believe, hers had the wet version and it was really bad. You should do a search on here and read some of the...

    Is this fowl pox?

Wet pox gets in their mouths and throats. I am by far no expert but I think you may have something happening here in addition to pox. THat does not sound at all right for it to be pox killing them like that. Mine mostly don't act like anything is wrong at all. This year they got it on their...

    Is this fowl pox?

THis is just my outlook on fowl pox. I am in a wet area in North Florida (there is swampy land adjacent to mine) and there are mosquitos and I cannot do anything to get rid of them so I don't do anything to prevent fowl pox in my flock. I take my chances. I have been fortunate so far that none...

    Is this fowl pox?

WOW! That is a full blown case for sure. I think it is pox. Poor things. Dry pox you really don't have to do anything...and this looks like that. Some put antibiotic cream or iodine on the spots but I just leave them be. This version here is the least bothersome for them it seems. My oldest had...
