My girls really are not up to speed in laying yet for 2014. This is "still" very much of a project. I have 4 roos that are begining to look correct but I still have alot of work to do. I can't guarantee that you will get Crele chicks. The pattern is there but the coloring isn't correct as of...
Gosh, Amy, thanks so much. I wish I could find more hours in the day as I owe YOU & so many others notes/emails. I need more hands & less tasks~! Hope all is well. Love all the pics on FB. I so adore my Mottled's from you. My "Tar Baby" is the sweetest little hen & sooo talkative. I'm also glad...
I've been working on this project for about 3 years. I'm still not where I want to be but I think the cockerels I produced this year will be helpful in obtaining the color/type that I eventually want to have. Here are some pics taken today of 8 month old cockerels & a pullet. Pics aren't great...

Steve,
I think the chick pictured has real potential. I've noticed that the white chicks have very sparse foot feathering. Do yours? The brown chicks seem to have the best feet. Gosh I wish they would grow quicker

Lynne, Little John is just marvelous! What fantastic type! Bravo!
And just look at the foot feathering on those little Crele chicklets!!
Thank you for the compliments, Gail. Now the hard part begins, waiting to see what these chicks turn into But I guess if a project were "easy"...
OK, here are pics of one of my roos, Little John.
Little John F1. It is hard to see the buff barred coloring in his hackle feathers, but it is there.
Another view
Close up of his hackle feathers.
These are the F 2 chicks from my other roo, Sunny Bono. I think they are both pullets...
Hi all~!
I'm also working on this color. My F2 chicks just hatched last month & I have some high hopes for a few of them. It is not an easy color to reproduce. My F1 roo has excellent shape & I'm hoping he has passed it on to his chicks. I'll get a pic of him today. I'm not as far along as PPF...
