Chickens with scaly legs, scales peeling off, growths

Hi,
I went to a park today, they had chickens, I saw their feet and I'm convinced that they have that problem, is it called "scaly leg mites"? They have the scales peeling off and it looks like one of the chickens has a growth on their feet, possibly a buildup of the peeling off scales ? I care about chickens a lot and i would be happy to treat them without the park owner even knowing but they might see me.

Also, the same chicken with the growth, I saw them putting their beak in their feathers behind the head, didn't look like it was preening themselves, is it lethargic ?

And the photo of the black hen, is that frostbite ?

I have put some pictures below, please could you tell me what the problem is and what treatment they need, also how do they get treated ? (amounts etc).

By the way, i'm saying "it" and "them" because I think at least one of them could be a boy or girl.

Pic #1 could be bumblefoot ... Really hard to tell. N

Pic #2 definitely appears to be scaly leg mites.

Pic #3 definitely appears to be frost bite.

These are some sad looking Chooks who need some TLC. Definitely do something to help. You may want to contact animal control or ASPCA to protect yourself if you think the park owner will react badly.

Agree with swede. I think #1 looks swollen. Gout?
 
I'm tempted to, I would be happy to pay for medicine/mite powder as I don't like to see chickens in this state.
The problem is, I think a lot of people don't really care about chickens, the animal authority may notify the park but would they just do something to put them to sleep ? I'm not sure if a park has any feelings for animals except for an attraction to get tourists.
 
I think I would report it too.

The only way I can think that you can treat it yourself is with ivermectin. (They would notice if you start rubbing Vaseline on their legs lol) You would have to double check the dose but I think it was .01 ml per 100g of body weight. So I'm going to guess about .03ml for an average bird onto some bread then fed to it.

Problem lies in the fact there is a withholding period on eggs which you won't know they are getting or not.

My vet gave me enough to treat my birds (for mites) so that might be a way to buy just what you need.

But I doubt the animal authority or park would do anything to help them, they would probably just put them to sleep and I wouldn't get over being responsible for their deaths.
 
A call to park management might be helpful. Let them know you've noticed a problem and you would like to pay for treatment. I can't imagine they would oppose that. They may not know there is a problem.

Although remote, there is a possibility they are already receiving treatment which might not be seen when the chickens are hanging out during the day.
