We ended up with 8 eggs—from just two hens!
I had assumed our injured hen had stopped laying, and our Junglefowl is usually too wild to keep track of. But my husband went out to water the plants and discovered 8 neatly arranged eggs tucked into a garden planter.
The strangest part? the last two days were the only in which the injured chick didnt lay in the nest box. All the eggs sink.... waiting to crack them for the smell test. Fingers crossed, no idea how long they have been there.
Edit: Here they are- well some of them. I ate... ummm.... its breakfast time. Still dark outside with the shorter days- but attempted to snap a photo. All seemed viable. I guess I will know in about 5 hours if I get poisoned.
