Hi all! Posted earlier that I am expecting a shipment of ducklings...from Metzer, I guess. (Made the order thru feed store). Anyway, I've been very anxious to get my babies, especially after seeing all the adorable photos posted! I thought they were to be here on Monday, but guess that was a confusion of hatch vs delivery date.
When I called the feed store they said "no later than Thurs." When I found out it was from Metzer, I looked at the website which said if you get them later than Wed morning it is hazardous to the health of the babies.
I haven't gotten a call from the feed store, but I've been bugging them a lot lately and feel like I should probably give them some time no matter how anxious I am...but was wondering...

those of you who have gotten orders from Metzer before, when did you actually get your duckies? And what kind of health did they seem to be in?

I ordered goslings last year, never got ducks from them. But they were here within 2 days, 'here' being southern KY. Hope they get there soon

Did the feed store call and check to see that they were sent?
 
I ordered my 5 from there this year. They shipped on Monday and I got them here in Florida on Wednesday. All very active.
They should be fine if you get them early Thursday morning. Just give them a drink and food right away. Good luck!
 
For my first order form them, the ducklings didn't arrive until thursday. I only got 2. One of them died, but not due to shipping reasons (he had a birth defect that they missed, he looked normal). But the other duck is now almost 2 years old and is my favorite duck

Both of my orders have come from Metzer this year, I ordered 25 total in 2 lots, 5 fawn and white runners, 2 black runners, 3 chocolate runners, 6 golden hybrids, 2 white hybrids, 2 cayugas, 2 black swedish and 3 assorted (all pekins). No issues what so ever, both lots shipped Monday and arrived Wednesday. I live in New Hampshire, Metzer Farms is in California. Good healthy ducks!
 
Well this is a comforting thread. I just ordered 3 blue runners and 3 pekins from Metzer Farms. They are suppose to be shipped out this coming Monday. I was hoping they'd be here on Wednesday and w/ everyone's comments from the thread I'm pretty sure they will be. Thanks.
 
Thanks all! I'm so happy to hear of the health and that they should be ok on Thurs...that just seems like too long.

Being in WA and they are shipped from CA, I figured I shoulda heard from them by now...I wonder if it's the feed store dragging their butts.

I want my duckies already!!!! Feel like if I have to wait any longer I'm going to explode! LOL Here goes another call to the feed store...they are so going to be sick of me.

I've ordered pekins and rouens from Metzer. The first shipment was 10 Rouens and the second was 6 Pekins. They shipped on Monday and arrived on Wed am very early!! They were all in good health.
