Obviously it is easy to tell which ones are black, but I have seen pictures of the splash and the blue, and I really cant tell the difference. Then again, maybe it was the pics, not sure. can anyone tell the difference in the color of blue chick, versus a splash chick? Maybe more pics would help me to determine if what I have is splash or blue? Only one has hatched so far, and isnt exactly fluffy enough yet to take pictures. Much appreciated..thanks

I hatched these from Stacey (gumpsgirl)

jodiv - The splash chicks are always silvery looking. It's easy to tell them apart that way too.

Also, if you get any chicks that seem to be somewhat whitish or yellowish, but also have some grey coloring on their backs... they could turn out to be lighter blue.

well I noticed that the dark blue one has lightened up a bit since he started to dry, hard to see thru a mini window on the bator LOL. But so far, a splash (silvery), a more darker splash or maybe blu, he or she has a dark beak like the one pictured of the reference chicks... and one black. who knows it might be dark blu too....

I'll just wait....I will definatly post pics soon for confirmation! Soon as they out of the bator and fluffy.

Hey there everyone. I recently hatched out some BBS Orps 75% English.

I'm assuming that I've got one blue chick, but one is yellowish, and the other is all three colors. Would anyone mind taking a look and telling me what they think? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry jumping in...

I hatched Black orpingtons yesterday and really thought they would be more black. This is a pic of the first one to hatch. Made me wonder if momma had a visitor???
