Ok, everyone suggest brewer's yeast. Well, if I can't find brewer's yeast, can I smash up a b vitamin capsule and give it to the ducks instead?

David Holderread suggests 100-150mg niacin per gallon of water through the first 8-10 weeks.

Niacin is just one B vitamin, so it would make more sense to see if you can find pure niacin capsules/tablets.

I was only able to get 500 mg capsules so I just opened it up and made 5 about equal piles and stored them in little tinfoil squres. I use one (100 mg) to a gallon of water.

I bought Niacin capsules at the pharmacy. They're easy to open and I sprinkle it on their food 3-4 times a week, as if I were salting my food.

Well, I read my herbal books and it seems that stinging nettle has niacin in it, so I am making stinging nettle water for my ducks

Stinging nettle is a wonderful plant for nutrients. I make tea and dry it. Both of those ways get rid of the stinging. Are you going to make a tea and cool it for them? Please let me know how it goes (you can PM me). I am interested in non-commercial food and medicine for the ducks and me, too.

I made a tea for them. Ukraine is filled with stinging nettle. Last year my chicks drank stinging nettle tea. This year I didn't do that but I want to give my ducks extra niacin and I am not sure I can find it at the vet pharmacy.
