If you were to cross a Mottled Houdan to a Silkie, could you get mottled silkies? I know the first gen would have smooth feathers, but what if you kept going? What would be the best color of Silkie to cross to try to attempt this?

Someone in Israel had one...it passed away

breed it with black silkie and remate F1 together... should give you 1/8(?) mottled silkies...

I would recommend a mottled cochin to a black silkie for you F1. Seems like what the sizzle people did for their breed.

wow she was STUNNING!! Exactly like what I would like to try for! So sorry to hear of her passing. Would it be better to use a silkie roo over houdan hens or houdan roo silkie hens? Or would this not matter?
doesn't matter, the gene (h) is not sex linked....

i agree use mottled cochins for your F1, that way you will keep the tight wing and round body
