My Dad has always raised white Cornish. He of late was having fertillity issues with his lone cock as he got older, as Cornish are prone to do. The last year he produced chicks, only produced pullets. My blue laced red Brahma project produced some clean legged chicks that showed a little of their cornish ancestory. I brought a trio of the stockiest clean legged, blue laced red, pea combed birds up to his place mostly for them to have eating eggs through the winter. As the cockerel matured and filled out he grew into a pretty nice, wide, stocky bird, and as Dad was unable to find a good white cornish male, well, our curiousity got the best of us. Here are some of what resulted.

He just recently made connection with a breeder out west is supposed to get a Lewis Stait line white cockerel shipped to him, so the line should continue. I just thought it a waste of a resource not to get some chicks out of those hens last year. Now we probably should breed in some really good dark cornish to improve type and harden feather, while keeping the blue, and could still produce some whites.

Very nice! It is really pleasing to still see people working on the standard Cornish / Indian Game, and not what so many people think Cornish are (the Cornish X)

I am trying to breed a few standard dark cornish. I would like to see more of your birds and what they look like after another cross with dark cornish.

Which breeder? I know a couple, and boy, there are some nice standard whites.

The blue cockerel has better width and over all size, and the blue pullet is a nice shade of blue. But you really need to have one in hand, in the sun, to truelly appreciate the intricacies of the pattern of a blue double lace hen. I"ll PM you the breeders name.
