Cornish Side Project

I really like those blue cornish. I was thinking about getting some white cornish but I dont have enough space left with all the breeds I have now to keep them.

Good luck with all your projects.

So, where can I get some hatching eggs????

My favorite breed is the Cornish. My first chickens were 8 DC hens. They are gone now, thanks to my puppies, but I do have one very handsome, broad, lovely DC roo that I got last spring from MM. I know he is not great as far as the standard goes, but he is a starting point. I would LOVE to get my hands on some of your eggs to hatch out. I absolutely

Blue in just about any breed. The blue laced ones are to die for.

I look forward to raising other varieties of Cornish in the Standard size, maybe develop a super size???

Here is my man, Dumbledore:

Mmmmm! A delicious man-bird. Don't you agree?

The Standard Cornish are also one of my favorites! Those blues are simply stunning.

. When you breed the blues to blue, do you get all blues? They look amazing, just need a little feather tightening. LOL! I would definitely be interested in some eggs from them! Great project!!

It is andalusion blue, so you should get the blue/black/splash 50/25/25% thing, plus these birds are carrying recessive white so solid white chicks will also be produced.

I would like some contact info for breeders of LF White cornish that may be interested in selling eggs. If you guys know of any can you please PM me ? Thanks

Great looking birds by the way. And these are F1 chicks from your BLR Brahma projects showing strong Cornish influence on your dads pure White Cornish hens ( masking the Dark laced pattern ) . Correct ? So breeding them together would give BBS laced offspring with a quarter of them being solid Rec. White.

The sire of these birds was second generation after crossing a splash blue laced red Wyandotte male onto my gold laced Brahma project hens. All through my Brahma projects I have had a few chicks show up that have shown stronger Cornish influence than their hatch mates. This male, being more "Cornish-ish", was mated to pure white Cornish hens, resulting in the birds in the photos. Now most of Dad's birds are direct Lewis Strait line birds. A couple years ago he got a few youngsters that were also supposed to be pure Strait blood, but had a slightly greenish cast to the legs as chicks. I suspect one of these hens produced the solid colered chicks, possibly E based, rather than the e^b that I would expect from a recessive white masked double laced bird.

I have been getting several PM's asking for white Cornish breeder contact info. I posted a link to my posting here on the International Cornish Breeders Association message board telling them that I was getting alot of requests for breeder info. It was suggested I link their board to this thread so those who are seriously interested might find a breeder, so here it is. Moderators I am only trying to help BYC folks get information they are requesting, it can only help improve the diversity and quality of BYC breeding programs.
