Need advice for long term care of crippled silkie *with picture

I have read here that silkies are more prone to vitamin deficiencies that other breeds. It may be worth a try to give her some vitamin B12 and Vit. E in her food. I have had a hen unable to walk and looked it up here and learned about the vitamin problem. after two weeks my girl was up and walking. don't give the vitamin E everyday for it gets stored in the fat and lasts a little longer. also, a warm bath, they love it and it will help get the blood to her feet. hope she does well.

Oh my gosh, thanks soooo much everybody!!

I love the chair with wheels idea, even if she wouldn't be able to stay out with all the other chickens at least she could get outside and move around a bit. I will ask my vet about B12 injections. We had to give some to a hen with a curled foot last year, and it didn't occur to me to go that route with Blueberry. I think I assumed that with her having so many problems since hatching that she was just born this way. Couldn't hurt to try though! Speckledhen, i would love to read more about your special guy, I'm going to look him up.

I am all fired up now. I will step up my game for sure! Thanks for all the ideas!
