Looking to get my gf a pair. She currently has 5 Rouens that that free range all day and do not have a pen. They live in a large fenced in yard and have for some time. She started with 3 and had two mircale hatches. The duckings litterally just showed up one day. Those 2 ( male and female) are not part of the original 3 they have not been accepted I guess. Would the calls be safe in this enviorment?

Maybe, maybe not. My first call ducks were harassed by my cayugas when we had them free ranging together. After we sold the cayugas the other large ducks got along just fine with the calls. Since you said the new ducks are not accepted by the others the calls may not be as well. However, the young ducks might accept them and if there is no fighting between the young ducks and older, then the calls might be ok. The thing is, since the calls are so small they can be injured rather easily. Hope this makes sense, good luck whatever you do.

We had some call ducks that would break out of their pen and the big ducks would breed the little call ducks. We were lucky no one got hurt.

I brood and raise my Call ducklings together with my bigger ducks (but I have all Light breeds: Runners, Hookbills, Campbells...they're not SIGNIFICANTLY bigger) and they all get along fine, I've never had a problem with the bigger ducklings trampling or squishing the Calls (they're feisty little buggers after the first few days - they stand up for themselves!

), but I separate everyone when they get to be sexually mature, because I'm worried about those big drakes hurting the teeny Calls. Although...I did have one group of Calls and Runners I didn't separate until they were adults, and the Runner drake bonded with a Call female and wouldn't let ANY other drakes NEAR her! It was really cute - he never hurt anyone, but when a Call drake came near her he'd grab him by the neck feathers and fling him away.

I knew it was one way or the other..... just don't let your goslings out when the big ducks are running around. Poor....poor gosling didn't know what took him down

My Cayuga pair got along just fine with the call ducklings. Of course I didn't put them outside until they were 8 weeks old, and they were segregated in a grow out coop for another two weeks. The call ducks adored the Cayugas; the female mostly ignored them, but the drake kinda took 'em under his wing, so to speak. When his wife was off doing other ducky things, he would show the call ducks how to drill their bills into the muck around the kiddie pool. He wouldn't let them near his lady, though. Without her close attendance, he seemed to enjoy their company.
