How long between pip and hatch? Had one pipped for a day. How long should I wait before helping it out?

It can take from 1 hour to over 24 hours, patience is needed lol.

they don't need your help, let them to hatch naturally, some time it take even 72 hours.

As long as your humidity is up high and you haven't opened the bator at all, it should be just fine. With chickens, pip to hatch can be as little as a couple of hours (rare) to as long as 36 hours (more common but still fairly rare). I think most normal is a little over 24 hours. That's how mine tend to go anyway...

If it has pipped and you try to help it hatch it may not live. I have helped chicks hatch that have been pipped for over 24 hrs, but it is tricky. You need to be very careful and start removing the shell leaving the membrane intact starting where the chick has pipped. Most often the chicks will die. If the chick is already partially zipped then it is safer. I usually put a cloth and paper towel on a heating pad and have a dish of warm water and q-tip or fingertip to keep the membrane soften.

Here is a good video.
