hey guys, this poor little EE chick is trying to hatch out of the small end... what is the deal with these ee's? Should i give him overnite? or go ahead and 'help' which i hate doing?

Make sure that the pip and small end are pointed upwards. I have had many chicks get 'turned around' and pip/hatch from the small end.

The last two hatches I've had (both were wyandottes), there's been several eggs that pipped at the small end. The first hatch was shipped and had weird air cells, so I attributed it to that. The second hatch was local eggs, so it threw that theory out of the water.

Anyway, they hatched out fine.

thanks- these EE's our from my birds- the shipped eggs did fine... maybe they just like being different..
