Well, I thought I would give equal time to a colleague.

Robbie sent me 100 of his finest White A&M Quail.

I will be treating them just as I treat the Tatankas, same feed, same water, same "air time".

First of all they came neatly shipped.

I set ~60 eggs, cracked a few in the Quail rails turners they were so large...

I locked down about 50-55 eggs and hatched ~40 fuzzybutts.

who are growing like mad!

added a column to our weights spreadsheet to track their progress and will update this thread when I can.

They are version # v3.25.2012

thanks for watching.

I talked with JamesMarie and put my name on the list. The recommendation was to go with the AM’s for the larger breast and the wilds met weight but a longer bird. Is there much difference because I would like more wild’s and figure both birds will dress out better than the ones I have now. I have whites now and really like how easy it is to sex the wild birds.
Has anyone hatched both birds and have input?
Thanks
Tammy

13 day weigh-ins yesterday. I wingband'd 9 so far.

weighed 8 of them at 13 days. born 3.25.

#1224=99g
1223= 111g
1222=89
1221=99
1220=90
1219=89
1218=92
1217=95.

this is 20% of the brood. avg. 95.5g @ 13 days.

ahead of the curve.

these are version 3.25, so they are 16 days old.

I weighed each and everyone of them, I cut several bands off them I had installed incorrectly (thanks for the heads up Idaho)

this was couple days ago weights at 13 days. day 16 weights next to them for our 3 day gains.

#1224=99g- 122
1223= 111g- 140
1222=89- 116
1221=99- 119
1220=90- 111
1219=89- 106
1218=92- 124
1217=95- 123

and looking at my scribble, I see ~90% a consistent 110-120g, with the max #1223 @ 140g
