My first bit of advice from experience. Don't start out with a digital thermometer. Mine was 5 degrees off (too high) and resulted in an unsuccessful first batch. Thanks to an experienced eye from a BYC'er (thanks chookschick) I now have multiple aquarium thermometers and currently have 22 eggs developing nicely.
