What did you do in the garden today?

"DH is going to kill me, I've decided I want another cattle panel for the garden. That means hooking up the trailer & heading into town"

Are you using a pick=up to pull the trailer? If so, just bend the cattle panel into a U-shape and put it into the bed. Strap it down if the tailgate will not close You can straighten it out enough to use, anywhere. Multiple panels. I have a trailer big enough to haul CP's laid out on the floor but....Why?
He's got tool boxes in the truck, he prefers to use the trailer. It's easier for me to just lay them flat on the trailer than to manhandle it into the truck anyway so no way I'm arguing with that! The truck is huge, I can barely even get into it.

Snowing here. Looks like it's going to be cold for a while now, I'm ready for spring. This 3 inch snow stuff stinks, not enough to use the snowblower or tractor so I have to shovel. & the ice is horrible right now, I have to use my ice cleats to even go out there.
Sorry for whining.
I'm with ya!!

Good morning all. We've had a bit of a break from sub freezing temps. It got up to 40F yesterday and the overnight low was 32F. It was nice to have a leisurely morning of not having to run out and thaw out the chickens. However the slightly warmer temps only exacerbated the ice problem. I need to buy more sand so it's safe for all to walk outside. My dear Randy slipped and fell on the ice the other day. He really misses his morning strolls around the chicken yard. Little Max is bored and frustrated. He tries, but he has trouble running in the yard with all the slush. He loves having a big yard to run in but it's hard on his paws. I decided to take him to Home Depot with me since they allow dogs in there. I'm sure that will get him excited. Then I'm planning on stopping into Pet Smart on the way home. By going to HD I can checkout their stock of garden seeds. No guilt puppy parenting. LOL! Like @Sueby said, the temps are headed down again. The good news is they don't stay in the negative or single digits all day, so there's some relief. We're getting some snow showers now but not anything significant. I think you'll be shoveling some more Sueby. This will be Max's first car ride in his new car seat. Fingers crossed that goes well. Stay warm everyone.

No idea. We didn't see a purchasing rush on things here for seeds and gardening things here, just a price hike in anticipation of making more $ on a rush. Supply was normal here too. At the end of each week, the Bonnie truck would show up at the hardware stores with fresh looking plants and toss the week old left overs on the shelf and throw them in the compost bin in their truck, plastic and all.
We didn't even have a rush on chicks last year. The farm stores had too many and took a selling loss on chicks at a week old or older. They over purchased in anticipation of a rush/need for them that also never happened.
The year before was a different story on both type of items.

I don't remember seeing a rush on gardening supplies last year in physical stores. Of course, we weren't really experiencing any bare shelves in the grocery stores at that time either (except toilet paper and cleaning supplies). Online seed sellers were another story.... I did see a lot of places that were out of stock earlier than usual. I ordered a book from the Seed Savers Exchange on collecting and storing seeds. They sent back a reply that said due to increased demand through their site, I could expect a 2 1/2 week delay.....for a book. I'm guessing this was an auto-generated reply which would have been sent regardless of what I ordered but it still supports the idea that business is booming for gardening and I have to imagine that the current supply chain issues are a good catalyst for it.
