I went & bought 2 ~ 300 gallon rubbermaid pond/livestock troughs. I have me some beautiful Ducks (imo

) & a bunch of crazy Geese!

300

& my above ground one

Cleaned my goose pond & it was quick & easy squeezy ! I am very happy with the setup.
Pulled the plug & walked away....

THEN~
It took all about under 10 minutes to clean!

Came back put the pump in to siphon the goo at the bottom (ran some hose water to help the pump)
& pumped it out & nice and clean,
Filling it up right now. Have my timer (aka my kid) set to turn the hose on for 10 minute intervals. So filling it is the longest part but also the easiest

Will put Fish zole in the water to treat any bacteria.

Here is the pump ~

Those are lovely, you have some lucky birds! Does the sunken pool have a drain as well, or do you pump out all the water?
It has a drain plug as well, But I will probally just pump the water out, that is one fast little pump, it has about 30' of hose, so I can drain the water away from our yard by the road

I will be draining/cleaning the sunkin one today, and see how it goes. Or see if I need to make any tweeks to it.

Thanks all !

Well pumped out my in ground pool, and it took 10 minutes to empty 300 gallons, 5 minutes to spray out the bottom !
15 minutes to drain & clean.

Now filling it takes longer, but is the easiest to do!

I am going to sink my above ground pond in the ground now to! I am doing this over the next few days. Seeing how easy it was to do the in ground pond!

Great! does the last bit just drain into the ground after you pump it out, or do you have a pipe running out, gravel pit etc? I'm asking all these questions because I am trying to figure out what we are going to do for our three ducks. We have an old claw foot tub, (without the feet) so it has a drain and small pipe. What we are still figuring out is if we should sink it, or just leave it up above ground. We live in the city with a small yard, so we can't just let the water go in one big puddle anywhere, we have to either pump, siphon, or gravity drain, it to a hose and spread it over our yard. Right now the duks are using a turtle sandbox pool, they like it fine, but my kids want it back!

Nice! My son's gug out my pond hole on Father's Day and we put in a 300 gallon pond. I have a trash pump that will empty it out in about a minute and a half! Again, nice - lots of geese!

The pump I have has a long hose & I just use the water to "water" my trees & then run it into a side area. A clawfoot tub would look great sunk in the ground, as long as you had a submersable pump it would be really easy to clean & would water your yard like you said.

Any pics? SWEET ~ 1 1/2 minutes !! I bought this pump with hoses at a garage sale for $3
