What have you used for fungal infections?

Greetings, all,

just wondering what works best in those cases where infections are fungal rather than bacterial.
Amiga I adopted 2 cochin bantams from horrible conditions about 2 months ago, one of the hens has Vent gleet, and I have tried over the counter products Monistat suppositories and cream, did nothing, started her on probiotics couldn't see that it was helping, but i now think it is been, putting 3-4 tab; of ACV into drinking water daily and spraying her bottom every evening with Oxine ah diluted with water one night and Veterycin another. Then I was given this link http://www.greposept.com/grepo.php?verze=en&id=vyuziti&link=4_10&sub=4 so I will start her on the Grapefruit seed extract when it gets here. I am seeing much improvement anyway but hoping this will give her the boost to be rid of it completely. She came with depression and would hardly eat or move but in the last month she has put on weight and is now part of the flock, her sister never had any problems and is now brooding. Will let you know about the Grapefruit seed extract if it's cracked up to what it says it suppose to be. I would much rather treat my ducks/ chickens naturally anyway.

I appreciate that, Miss Lydia. We cannot always get to a vet, especially one who really understands ducks, so it is good to have some idea how to treat various kinds of infections.

From what I recall, tea tree oil, grapefruit seed extract, goldenseal (an herb) and oregano oil are all supposed to be effective against fungal infections.

"Tea tree oil has been proven to be a powerful yet natural antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal medicine (essential oil)."

Goldenseal: "Herbalists often recommend it topically for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic actions, which make it useful to clean wounds, reduce hemorrhoids, soothe canker sores, and alleviate skin infections (including ringworm and athlete’s foot (this is a fungal issue)).

Oregano Oil: effective against fungus, parasites and viruses. It can be used externally and internally
