I have a duck that I’ve been treating for severe bone infection in her toe due to bumble foot for almost a full month now and I’ve been giving her pain meds for about a week now she is walking on it better some days better than others I’ve was wondering if anyone has had to deal with this before and how long it took them for there duck to get better she’s on heavy duty medication that I give her three times a day and another pill she has a recheck this Saturday I’m just wondering if it’s just going to be a long recovery also she’s still is eating and acting normal

Hey I’m sorry about your duck. What medications are you giving her? Glad you have access to vet care for your duck. I wish I could help you, but I don’t have experience with ducks. I know bumblefoot in chickens takes a very long time to heal, especially complicated cases. Sometimes topical antibiotics tend to help more than oral.

But I think @Miss Lydia is super good with ducks :) maybe if you post some pictures she could give you some advice or offer an opinion on how long healing might take?

Sound like this is going to take a while since it is in the bone. But hopefully the medication will clear it up. Your pluses are she is eating and acting normal which is awesome. If you can post some pictures that can help and you might want to do some Epsom salt soaks daily it is also good for help with inflammation. There is also an Epsom salt poultice that can be used you just slather it on put a now stick pad then wrap with vet wrap. Of course since she is in a vets care I would talk with the vet about these. And :welcome
