I thought at first it was a mottled cochin....but it doesn't look like any of the photos on the hatchery site. I think it's a hen, she's around 8 weeks old. Thanks for the help!
I will try again next month...when she was a chick, she looked just like a mottled cochin and that was one of the breeds available in the hatchery mix but now....I have no idea. None of her feathers are "tipped" they are either straight Ivory or Black and her legs are pretty much solid Ivory. She is very friendly though in part because she's been inside with us for 2 months, lol. She still has just baby down on the back of her neck and backside.
Whatever she or he is, its adorable!! Let us know when you find out please. I just bought a bantam cochin, a smooth sizzle and a blue sizzle. They all look very different and are very young, still getting their feathers in. I am a very beginner so learning lots. Val
Thank you farmerChef , that photo was really helpful! I had no idea chickens had "teenage" feathers, lol. She definitely looks like a teenager, all gangly and missing half her feathers on her backside She is super friendly though so she's everyone's favorite!
