My polish chicken seemed to have lost her head feathers overnight. She used to have a beautiful puffy head but now it's really lacking. I've never seen a chicken actually picking on her, but some of the picked feathers are still half way there. They kind of look like the pin feathers on my sisters conure. I went to my local feed shop to ask someone about it, and they told me to put vasaline on it. That was a few days ago and it hasn't gotten any better, also dirt keeps getting stuck in it. I just don't want to make her stay inside while her friends are out. Isolating her isn't really an option, unless I could put her in a bathroom nobody uses. Does anybody have anything that will actually help her?

***UPDATE***
I put the polish chicken in the bathroom, after I laid down newspaper. She is with the other polish chicken I have.

I have noticed that my ornamentals actually ALLOW other chickens to pull off their 'fluffy' feathers. I had a houdan who would sit and let others peck off her neck feathers in the summer. As soon as it got cold, she won't let it happen anymore.
My Polish rooster will also just sit any let his head feathers get removed. He would walk away as soon as he decided it was enough. It seems that like chickens actually want it that way oddly enough..
