Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Not a Michigan resident, but I’m visiting in three weeks.
My hubby and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
Our honeymoon was spent in Mackinac and we are going back there to celebrate. Long drive but worth it.
Not been there since the honeymoon, so we’re excited!
Such a beautiful area!!

Those are some beautiful yolks!
What feed are feeding them? Just curious, because one time I switched my flock of hens and roos to all-flock after reading the harm the extra calcium can do that's in the feed. I was providing crushed oyster shells on the side, but one of my girls was not eating them so she got a prolapsed vent. It was a pain to deal with and we tried everything until we gave up and took her to the vet to put the stitch in her vent. The vet had said that it was because of us switching the feed and she just wasn't getting enough calcium from the all-flock. We put them back on layer feed after that, and we have not had any egg problems ever since, knock on wood....:fl
It might also just be that since your girl is a new layer, that was just a dud.
They are getting the all flock from kalmbach. I have some younger chicks and a rooster also.

And down here it's been too hot!!!
Going up north sounds like a really good idea...

For real, send some of that cool air our way, will ya @1muttsfan ?? 90° again today and a slight cool down, then back at it next week. I'm in the lower left corner of the mitten, so we get the bad Chicago air here, too.

Enjoy your trip @BoundlessLove and make sure to stop for fudge. If you're looking for a really cute stop on the way (depending on which way you're going), I love stopping at Anderson & Girls farm. Lots of goats to pet and feed and some peacocks running around loose. They have an ice cream parlor and bakery. Well worth stopping. Oh, did I mention it's free?? Donation only (unless you purchase baked goods, souvenirs, or ice cream).

Thank you!! That sounds lovely!
I will check with hubby about the route. I know we will be coming up 75. He did say will bypass Detroit.
Any suggestions welcome! 😀
It has been twenty five years so I’m sure lot of changes.
