closed to new quilt block entries for late fall block swap

(I will start a new block swap for January in early November-any suggestions?)

I love to quilt, and would like to make a Fall color CHICKEN (or duck or goose or turkey) quilt block swap. I would like this to be a sampler quilt, with each person making a favorite block. I think the odds of having any two so similar its a problem are slim.

We each should make FOURTEEN 12.5" x 12.5" blocks that incorporte some fall colors and at least a piece or two of poultry fabric into the block. Feel free to make your favorite block, and come show a pic of the design or tell us, if you wish it. I think we should make the blocks due November 15th.

I am on BYC every single day, and I will absolutely be available to answer questions, and all who send blocks will receive blocks from whomever else takes part. I ask that when you ship your blocks, add a large SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) for easy block shipment. However many blocks we each receive is dependant on how many quilters take part.

DON'T LET PAST EXPERIENCES KEEP YOU FROM TAKING PART, I WILL BE HERE DAILY, AND THIS IS A TRUE QUILT BLOCK EXCHANGE!!!

OUR CURRENT QUILT BLOCK SWAPPERS ARE:

GrannysRoost

I am in, I stopped with the other as it got bad with bad feelings, if a hostess, you need to keep the group excited... and on track...Acres did it, Ginbart did it....

I will try again, I need to get some chickie fab to go with the rest....

Hopefully we start anew...so others participate...

I think a few bad apples can ruin the barrel, but I'll be here every day! I love to sew and quilt, and I love chickens, so wild turkeys couldn't drag me away...

I agree, gotta stay on track, and encourage others, and be available. I am all of those.

I will mark you down, GrannysRoost!

I suppose I'll will give us 2 to 3 weeks before I close it, unless we get to 12 or 16 or 20 people first.

The rules are
1. Make 12 x 12 inch blocks that are fall colors (brown, orange, yellow, dull greens, black, red, etc) and at least one piece of the block should have poultry (chicken, duck, etc). Use any block you love, just be sure its 12 x 12 (or 12.25 x 12.25) inches square, so everyones are the same.

2. When your blocks are finished (by Nov. 14) ship them to me. (PM me for you address when you are ready)

3. On Nov. 20th (five days after blocks are due) I will give all participants one block from each other participant, and one of your own back. IF 12 play, we'll each get 12. I
will ship these back to you in your SASE.

4. Then, I'll probobly start a winter block swap. What can I say, quilts and hatching eggs are my life, right after my family and the Lord.

Found a few chick-mix fabrics, with coordinating colors...We have another cloudy, windy day... I am home alone...going to find a block I like and get started, who can go wrong with chicken fabric :)
