I really like this idea, of course if I hatched out that many ducklings this time of year I'd be sleeping in there with them, dh would not be a happy man. Those are some adorable babies too.![]()

If i had something this fancy for my flock I can see it now the ducks and chickens would be nesting on it . Probably Missy my goose would be up there too.
Have you seen the goat troughs at TSC?Maybe if the base/tray were slanted a bit more it would keep them from trying? I think I'm going to try one as I am looking to get all of their feed and supplement bowls off the floor. I've been slowly buying the plastic goat troughs to put up for them and the heritage turkeys and peafowl.
Yes, and in thinking about it, I was wrong when I said goat, the ones I've been getting are in the horse section. They're black plastic and have 2-3 sections that are a good size and depth. Something else there, the over the fence rubber troughs. I just got one for the pigs and I think it would lend itself quite nicely to the ducks and geese especialy. Deep enough they can clean their bills and sturdy enough to take the abuse.Have you seen the goat troughs at TSC?
I've seen those and I like them, I bought the goat ones and really like them too. so it just means what ever works best for your situation. Getting food and water off the ground sure helps with the mess.Yes, and in thinking about it, I was wrong when I said goat, the ones I've been getting are in the horse section. I know!!! What is up with that? My son would do things like that when he was 5 and going into his wading pool, lol. The rocks, I collect rock so I get that, lol, but the twigs and stuff?we use flat back horse buckets clipped to the cattle panel fence for drinking buckets. Helps keep a ton of their crude they want to pick up and put in.
