Saying Goodbye To Mandy [long and graphic]

Thanks for the tip about the stick. We have "bird bombs" we use, but hawks are now my sworn enemy. Stinkin' things. I think you give sound advice though. I wish I could have seen you spraying that hawk with a garden hose or yelling with a rake....lol.
Me too. although i spray my chickens with the water hose when they get into a flower bed i don't want them in, they do not like to be sprayed. I can see a hawk not liking it.

Okay, what's a 'bird bomb'?

As for seeing me with the rake....it probably was a sight to see, lol. The garden hose was kind of a mishap shall we say? I was cleaning out the turkey house and standing in the doorway using the hose for the final rinsing. All of a sudden I have a Mallard flying past me with that big old Red Tail right on it. Hand comes up and that bird is knocked flat on the ground. Caught her just right with the stream of water. Boy was she mad! She was screaming at me and then the geese got into the act and my dog went after the hawk. What a zoo! She stayed away for about a week after that, so it was a good day.
