I have rooster that was rescued from an old man who wasn't caring for any of his animals properly.

I ended up this rooster who was left out all winter, left in -40C weather. He had frostbite and didnt look good when we got him. He's much better now and doing a fantastic job of watching over my hens.

I had someone ask me for hatching eggs just for layers and they asked what breed the rooster is....
I have no clue what he is other than a cross of some kind?

If anyone has any idea what he is or what crosses he might be, I'd really appreciate the insight.

I don't know his age either....basically he was rescued with 6 other roosters and over 50 hens. His black feathers are actually a tinge of green

ANY help at all would be awesome

Thanks!

at a glance, he looks buckeye. but probably not.. color not right and buckeyes still are not very common. Could be dark cornish cross or mix.
Thanks so much Kev
I figured he was some type of mix and I wasn't sure what mixes it could even be.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated
