I was sitting there watching chick TV. We got 6 on Sat. 2 Red Sex Link, 4 sr Speckled Sussex. (lack of self control) I was looking at their combs and tying to see if there was any difference to them. There was a slight one. 3 look like a metal blade on a jigsaw and one looks like a crosscut blade. They are young so I was not reading to much into this just made a mental note and continued watching chick TV. You know eating drinking scratching stretching cheeping. Then the one with the "Crosscut" comb jumped on the roost, stretched its neck up and squawked a "loud" crow.( I think) All the rest stopped what they were doing and looked at it for a bit. Could this be? I was under the impression that crowing didn't happen until much older.
Now back to chick TV.
