I set 30 eggs last night at about 9:00pm (15 turkey, 15 chicken.) Things were looking good when I went to bed at about midnight. Well I woke up at 6:30 and felt so hot, the heat had been blasting all night and the outside temperature raised significantly. Well the temp in my incubator was reading 108*!!! I killed them all, didn't I? I'm so angry with myself. I want to have hope but all of the accounts I've read of high temp spikes where the chicks made it seem to have much shorter times or older eggs.

I removed the lid for a little while and got the air temp in there back down to 95*, now it's been reading 99* for about 20 min.

108 is pretty high, but you won't know for sure that there dead until you candle at day 7, so just keep going until then, there pretty tough & others have had temp spikes & they survived.

Don't lose hope yet. It may not have been at 108 for long I've had eggs hatch out that sat in a enclosed coop in a covered best box in summer heat upwards of 108! Maybe all will be good!

my incubator had been rock steady for several hatches, until this one it went crazy wonky - had a spike up to 108, then dipped down to 97, then the next day back up to 106, I was sure they were all gonners... but after candling in the evening after both spikes, there were happy little chicks bouncing around. I've lost 2 or 3 so far, not sure if they're related to the temperature crazies or not. Don't give up hope, but try to figure out what's going on with your 'bator.
