Hatching eggs - help

Well, here is an update. Today is day 24. Still have 14 eggs in the incubator. I did the float test and all floated at the level that is suppose to be full development. No movement noted in the water though. One of the eggs actually has the shell cracked open (membrane under intact - I did not float this one). I can see the fully developed chick in there. I am guessing that I had to do something wrong for these guys to not make it out, but I have no idea what I could have done wrong?? I had explained earlier that I had 2 that broke the egg but never made it out. It seems that I was just lucky to get the 9 we got. I would really like to figure out what we did wrong so we wont repeat the mistake in the future. I still have 9 happy little chicks. One of the chicks actually has a bad foot/leg - it turns inward and it doesn't apply any pressure to it. Anyone have any good suggestion on sexing blue ameracaunas?

I'm very upset that my post office didn't call me to tell me that my hatching egg were here. I call them this morning and they were going to call me back and never did. I got home and there was a post card in my mailbox, telling me they were here. Now the eggs are going to be sitting in the post office all weekend long. Does any body know how long the eggs will last without being in a incubator?

They can actually last for awhile. I've hatched eggs that were over 3 weeks old. As long as the temp in the post office is cool. The hatching rate will diminish over time however, but you should be good.
