I just had a peacock hatch and it toes on both feet are essentially curled into a fist. Will the familiar "chick shoes" work to fix that? I tried to straightened them out to see if he would stand on it but they roll right back into the fist. I will take a picture when I get him out of the incubator. Please Help.

What are the "boots" that you mentioned? I have one who seems to have balance issues and can't stay up without support. Just lays on its side and can't seem to get up. I wonder if "boots" would help? Please enlighten me.
thank you,
Donna Sue

Thank you so much! I've got some of that tape here!

This is what one of the feet look like with the "boot" on, will this help? It looks to me that something needs to be done with the joint?

EDIT: I just went down to check on them and it seems like they are getting better. One of the peachicks had both feet curled into a fist and with the boots on it can walk, although its legs need to get some strength. On the other one it had one curled foot and it seems to be getting better also. I have one more in the incubator that needs to be fixed.

So for this hatch I had 7 out of 13 eggs hatch, which I consider very well because I had the temp. spiked to 104 about half way through the incubation period. As some of you know my adults are almost mysteries as to what they are and what their split to. To make it even more confusing I seemed to have hatched a IB Silver Pied (will post picture later) from a IB Pied male and White Peahen.
