The picture AbOve Is the Worst. I apologize for the crazy capitalizations I'm using my phone to post this

I don't know what that is but it looks bad. The only thing I can think of not knowing what it is, is to try some antibiotics. I was able to get some antibiotic drops for my chicken's eye from my vet without bringing in the chicken. He doesn't treat chickens so he sold them to me as I told him it was for my chicken. It cost $20. Ask your vet and he/she may help you. Ask for an ophthalmic triple antibiotic with steroids. Ask for the drops instead of an ointment, just a lot easier to get in the chicken's eye.

I put the drops in the chicken's eye in the morning and at night. I got up really, really early before they got off the roost and picked her up off the roost, wrapped her in a towel, sat on a chair and put the drops in her eye, then just put her back in the same spot on the roost. I did the same thing at night, waited until they were up on the roost.

Hope this helps,
Guppy

Could be a respiratory infection which you need Tylan 50 for. Someone will reply later today with dosage, etc.

I'll have to post an updated picture of Ethel, her eyes are a bit clearer and she's opening them a little better. She definitely has what look to be warts forming around both eyes. The right eye, pictured in original post is the worst by far. Also, noticed this morning that one of my Dominique hens has a watery eye. :( I've got 2 other hens with black raised spots on their combs and wattles. I'll have to post pics of them as well if I can get them to be still long enough....they aren't nearly as laid back as sweet Ethel. The black spots on the other two are what make me think this could be a case of fowl pox.

Waiting on further response. I was recommended eye flush of Tylan 50 (2cc Tylan + 10cc sterile water)2x/day on another forum, which I have been doing for her since yesterday late morning/early afternoon.

Ethel's condition scares me simply because I have another Austrolorp, Lucy, who is very bonded with Ethel and I fear something happening to either of them for the sake of the other. These two sweet girls are inseparable.

here is an updated picture of ethyl. her eyes are watering nearly as much, but the size of the little bumps around her eyes have gotten bigger. Bossy Pants, my hand with the black spots now seems to be cleared up. my Dominque has one watery eye.

It looks like you could be dealing with fowl pox. Hopefully, somone with experience dealing with fowl pox can give you a more definitive answer as to whether or not it looks like wet or dry and how to treat. Good luck.

That's what I've been afraid of. Hoping someone will chime in with some treatment options. So far, her mouth and throat are clear as are her nasal passages. Her eyes seem to be the only part affected, with raised bumps which appear to be wart-like. Her eyes occasionally water, which they were not this morning when I checked in on the girls.

So far, I have been rinsing her eyes with a solution that was recommended to me on another forum (2cc tylan + 10cc sterile water). Would love to know if there is something else I can do for her. She seems to be eating and drinking ok. My son offered her some treats after we rinsed her eyes and she gobbled up the meal worms like they were going out of style.

Thank you all in advance!

any other thoughts out there? I'm thinking it could be fowl Pox... the swelling now looks more like warts.
Looks like pox to me, just watch their weight, food/water intake and check the inside of their mouths every few days for wet pox. I think the Tylan/saline is a good idea and might try that on some of mine.
