Tube/Crop/Gavage Feeding Videos and Information

Some re3ally great videos here! The last one in the first post is the one that helped me the most when I was needing advice. This information has saved many, many lives. Here is a pic of some of the rigs I use.

Great picture! Can you tell us what sizes they are and what you use them for?

That's funny, you asking ME! Kathy helped me tremendously when it came to picking out the right equipment to tube feed and I owe her a great amount of gratitude for her guidance.

I went to a medical supply house and bought a selection of catheters ranging from FR-10 to FR-28. I use the FR-12 probably the most for administering Safeguard when deworming and for small chicks that need emergency feeding. The FR-18 is great for up to yearlings, and the FR-24 or FR-28 is the most go to size for adult birds.

The 60ml syringe is an irrigation syringe that has a large tip on it that the catheters fit over snugly. Don't make the mistake of buying a regular tipped syringe as the feed will not flow through it. The syringes can be reused for a while but the rubber gets sticky and will need to be lubed with some silicone lube made for rubber.
