My bantam splash cochin seems to be constipated I think. I saw her standing on the ground and it looked like she was trying to go to the bathroom but couldn't.

She is walking around like shes alright and she drinking I think but I put some mixed grains on the ground for her to eat but she only ate a little bit and she always wants to eat scratch! So I don't know I don't think she has a sower crop but I will check again. And its been really cold up here in WA State lately and she doesn't get along well with my other chickens because shes at the bottom of the pecking order so I put her in a pet carrier in my pump house at night and then in a pet carrier in the greenhouse during the day or if its good enough weather I let her out to free range. Her bottom was a little messy but now its not because she took a dust bath. So I dont know whats wrong with her or if anything is but it just seems odd. But shes up walking around so I have no idea.If anyone has any ideas about whats wrong let me know thanks!

Is her vent blocked? If not, try giving her fish oil & a warm bath. During the bath, try and massage the poop and/or egg out of her.

I would insert ky jelly mixtures ( I did about 1:5= Ky jelly : warm water ) into her vent using a dropper if she hasn't pooped yet.
Not too much..
A farmer lady recommended to me if my chicken has constipated. it won't hurt your chicken for a long term that is by her vet.

Vaseline or vinegar mixtures will damage chickens if we use for a long term.

I will check and see if her vent is blocked and I dont think shes egg bound because its been more than 2 days and thanks for the help!:)

What does 2 days have to do with egg binding? They can have a stuck egg and live for months after, but will eventually die a horrible death. CHECK FOR AN EGG before it's too late.

Sorry I was just always told that they could die in two days if they had an egg stuck I did check just now and she doesnt as far as I can tell and shes 7 so she hasnt layed an egg in a while.

telling us she is 7 would of helped a lot. surely you have seen by now with her being caged if she has pooped or not ? molasses is a good thing for such a problem. is she getting grit? if she only wants scratch her diet is not good enough. get some vitamins started.

yeah it would have been a good idea

im sorry I forgot to put that she was 7 in the first post and I think she has gone its just that it seems like there should be more of it. She does get grit and oyster shell and she gets Purina Flock Raiser and I give her a little wheat germ oil sometimes and Im going to town to get some vitamin supplements and things from my local Dels.
