I noticed my polish hen laying down on her side. When we picked her up her nose was all dirty like it was oozing snot. I didnt really think anything of it until my other hen had the same symptoms . Now I'm really worried they are going to spread it to my new chicks. What could it be ?

Welcome to BYC. First you need to separate the sick hen. Where did you get the Polish hen? Respiratory diseases in chickens cause runny nose, watery or bubbly eyes, chest gurgles or rattles, and swelling around an eye or the face. They are very contagious, and make carriers of any chickens exposed. Treating with antibiotics may ease symptoms, but not remove the disease from the flock. Mycoplasma Gallisepticum, coryza, infectious laryngotracheitis, and infectious bronchitis are the common ones. Here is some reading to help you: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

I've had the hen since she was 2 days old . If she is from a hatchery would she be vaccinated for these kind of things ? Would it eventually kill her without treatment?
