Are we RIR?

The seller of these girls claimed they are RIR and that they are 1 1/2? I am confused because they have a lot of white feathers and a large Comb Neither of which I see in any of my reds. Also they all seem to have deformed beaks? can anyone help me to answer these questions?
Ahhh, bless your heart for taking in these girls.. & so glad you joined in. :welcome Hope they will provide you & your family farm fresh eggs. It seems they are molting or like you had mentioned they are older, possibly just finished a laying season.. Do all of them have the beak problem? AND hopefully they are only 1 1/2.. White feathers are not RIR.. Keep us posted on how they are doing & laying.. Brown eggs? They have a better home..

They haven't laid anything as of yet. All of them have some beak issues, some not as bad as others. We have had 2 die so far. Unfortunately even our 8 that we had laying have slowed and now we went from six eggs a day to 2 a day. Any help with recommendations would be appreciated!

We didn't quarantine them from all of our chickens. We have 20 we have raised from chicks in 1 coup, and we had 11 that we adopted from a Lady who was breaking Code Enforcement laws (40+ chickens and 30+ ducks, w/ 20+ cats and 2 Pigs all on less than 1/4 acre lot. and she was zoned for 0 "farm animals") in another coup. I mixed the new girls in with the 11 because they all had been around lots of other Chickens and they all have gotten along well.

I'm wondering if theres a chance that they have parasites of some sort and could have possibly passed it on to your current flock. Have you tried worming them?

I think they're red sex links that have been debeaked. This is the age when battery operations get rid of their stock, sounds like that's what happened here.

X 2 -- factory farms have no place for hens who stop laying to molt and then come back with possibly lowered production after that molt - so they get the boot, and these girls certainly fit the bill.
