I've been asked to post my tractor design so here goes...
When we were coming up with a plan for our broilers I knew I wanted to use something different than the standard Salitain design.
I had a few reasons why:
I needed them to be light enough for my wife or someone smaller than me to move without help.
I wanted something I could raise turkeys in as well as chickens
I wanted a better way to unload the birds from the tractors into the crates, turkeys included.
This is the end result, it's not the cheapest way to make a tractor but it's reasonable and very efficient.
The frame is a standard 10x12 box using 4x4s as corners, I build the side walls completely than attach the ends and frame a door way in the front.
The roof structure is 1 1/2 inch pvc, 2 10 foot pieces attached with water proof couplers and covered with 1x3 field wire
