    Leg Problem with turkey poult

I have a 3 week old heritage turkey poult with their right leg almost twisting, towards the left basically overlapping their left foot. I have not seen this issue before and can't seem to find information for it on any of the threads or online. This is my first year raising heritage turkeys and...

New Chick Owner - Sexing 3 Week Old Easter Egger?

Hi! I'm a first-time chick owner. This is also my first day on this forum, which I've heard a lot of great things about! I got 7 chicks from a really reputable guy in our area. He gets all of his chicks vent sexed at the hatchery where he orders from. They're all soooo friendly, and they...

Are my two black Swedish ducks male or female?

Hello! So I’m getting pretty nervous! I went to my local feed store and bought 2 female black swedish ducklings about 3 weeks ago, and today I accidentally put them in a bath that was alittle to warm, and they started quacking in their adults voices! But one was a quack and one was very raspy…...

Straining to poop, small prolapsed vent

One of my (3 week old) chicks seems to struggle with big (painful) poops and currently is slightly prolapsed. I’ve witnessed her having a large poop, and “cheep cheep cheeping” like there’s discomfort, so I’m of the mindset that she’s straining from that, not heat? However I know I read...

3 Week old golden laced Wyandotte

It's my first time getting Wyandotte's so I have no idea how to sex them. We got this one at a place that didnt take the best care of them, they said it was 90% pullets but I'm not sure how accurate that was.

    3 week old cochin?

Few weeks ago I fell victim to TSC late season chick days. It appears my "assorted bantam" bin gave me a cochin. I was in the coop/brooder tonight checking over everyone and noticed tell-tale redness of a young cockerel. These babies are only 3 weeks old. I don't want to be right but "it" is a...

    Green poops

I am finding green poops in the brooder of my 7 3 week old chicks as of this morning. A few of them at least have been doing so. Some are runny and some are a more normal consitancy. I started treating with Corid this morning in a different waterer than normal. It is possible they weren't...

    Liquid mucous oral

I noticed some of our 3 week old chicks today are (lethargic, eyes slightly closed at all times, still eating, drinking, but no bloddystools) here is a link to my other post since I am unsure they are related ( www.backyardchickens.com/threads/coccidiosis-advice.1189523/) There is one that is...

Is 80 degrees fahrenheit a good temperature for 3 week old chicks?

So today we got 6 3 week (or so) old rhode island red chicks. The room they are in is about 80 degrees. My mom says we can't put on their infrared bulb, but will they be ok at that temperature? Also, what do happy chicks sound like?
