New chicken mom here!
I have an approximately 6 week old barnevelder and I need some help figuring out if my “girl” scrappy is a roo or a hen. Please help!!
Hi everyone, any thoughts on these two Barnevelders? They are around 7 weeks old. One has feathered up a bit more around the neck. They both seem to have visible wattles starting around their necks.
Hello,
We have 3 chicks- 2 x Barnevelder and 1 x Plymouth Rock.
Hoping they are all pullets, and I have been searching through everyone’s photos here- but not sure as we don’t have any others to compare with! They are about 4 weeks old (the Plymouth Rock is about a week younger).
Thanks!
I got 4 chicks the yellow is an Isa Brown and the 3 black ones were labeled as Barnevelders but after some research I didn’t see any that looked like mine. Could I have been given a different breed or could these chicks in fact be Barnevelders?
I bought both chicks from a local feed store and wanted thoughts on my Barnevelders. The lacing in one is more pronounced than the other and just has more color in general. One is black with little lacing and the other is more colorful. I know their feathers are new and they’ll look different...
Aloha everyone,
This is the first flock of my own, but I have been around chickens almost my entire life. My brother raised them for many years. Anyway, I have 13 adorable chicks right now. 12 Silver Double Laced Barnevelders and one Black Copper Marans (a gift from the breeder).
My goals...
2 weeks, these are my silver Barnevelders. See their hatch-a-long here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/barnevelder-hatch-a-long.1501308/post-25104480
I know it is too early but I like starting threads way before I need to 🤪
