Hello, so last Saturday morning (4/9) my 6 year old rooster began singing as if he were losing his voice. I checked inside his beak and everything did look normal, but my sister said he was "breathing kinda hard" (which I didn't notice). Anyways, his voice returned in the afternoon and I thought...
Hi chicken helpers!
Several of my flock of 12 have suddenly developed black spots on their combs and a couple have lumps on their beaks. They sleep in a coop with run and free range all day. It has been damp/rainy on and off lately and the mosquitos are pretty bad.
Any ideas on what could be...
This morning when I let the girls out I noticed that my barred rock and australorp both had little black spots on their combs and wattles. Last night was our first 50 degree night and I haven’t added any extra bedding yet because days are still getting up to 90 and they’re all just about old...
ive noticed one of our hens has black growth on its comb. Do I need to do anything? She has recently finished moulting (it’s winter here) and hasn’t resumed laying yet. Otherwise normal behaviour, energy, eating, pooping etc.
I have attached a pic, not sure if I should be worried or this is normal? I live in NW North Carolina and we have had a massive amount of snow so far this year. She is not the alpha...Feathers missing around her neck...molting? Thanks in advance, I am the Biddie Newbie.
