I’ve read everything and still need help with ventilation

We have bought a property with a pre-built coop. I just want to make sure it’s ventilated but not drafty. The top is open and goes to the outside. I KNOW this needs to be covered with hardware cloth to prevent vermin coming in. But is this considered drafty? Should I board up the interior roof...

    Wire mesh coop bottom

Hello! So I adopted 3 chickens from a co worker (my first chickens) and they came with their own coop (sweet!) We are building a bigger coop in the spring to house all the incoming chicks I have planned, but I’m wondering, especially going into winter, how good is their coop now? The coop is...

Do I have a drafty brooder? Help!

Yo, this is my first time hatching quail eggs! Can someone tell me if the chicks placement says I have a drafty brooder? Or is it too hot? The chicks are all on the right, against the side of the box. How do I fix this? Is my lamp placement incorrect?

Chickens currently roosting in tree, but with Minnesota winter coming on, I need to give them a bit more shelter. 1a) I'd love to use the...

Ventilation without a draft!? Driving me nuts!

I am located in Central Washington. Ag zone 6 (0 to -10F). We get snow and sometimes a lot of wind (30-40 mph gust or higher). I am converting a lean-to type shed. Approximately 5 foot high with a slope to about 4 feet. 7 feet wide and about 8 feet long. I has a roof and the sides are somewhat...

Would these holes need to be covered for a duck house?

I know for certain it would be too drafty for the chickens. I am thinking of hw cloth as the holes are at least 1" with a temporary cover that could be removed to allow air flow in the warmer months? It is a repurposed child's playhouse.
