Hello! I am new to this place, and I really didn’t know where else to ask, but I am worried about one of my ducklings named Elphie. I got her about 25 days ago, and I think she was only a couple days old maximum when I got her and another duckling I’ve named Daphne.. I am extremely new to ducks...
So three eggs have hatched, two perfectly normally and now in their brooder. One who was a day late has hatched but still has his yolk attached to him!
He is limp and sometimes vocal and has taken some sugar and water but it's been about 12 hours now
What do I do? Is it too late for this...
we wrapped waffles’ wing in a wrap and it healed fine. Today I find her like this. Veterinarians are booked until October the closest one that can see her is 5 hours away and they can see her the 15th of September. Please help.
I'm at a loss a duck that was in my yard behind a bush with seven eggs was attacked tonight by a fox I did everything I could trying to keep the fox away she has a big wound on her chest a bite on her back right at the bottom of her neck and I'm not sure of any other damage or how bad it is when...
Basically my duck is stuck in the same place he’s not walking and when he tries to he falls like he’s weak I try giving him food and he just munches on and then spits it out he’s just drinking water and his beak is turning kinda pink and warm.
i noticed my blue runner duck, pluto, has been acting strange. it was raining for the first time in a while and she normally loves the rain and all the mud, but she was standing still & heaving. i knew something was wrong and started recording and she threw up. could she have eaten something...
For context: I have a flock of 18 Pekin ducks. It’s been over 100 degrees F or around that for the last week or so. I have a large open pond in my backyard that is connected to other ponds in my area, including my neighbors pond. The neighbors teen hates me and I would not put it past her to try...
Hello, just last night three stray dogs dug under our fence and got ahold of one of our goslings and a few of our ducks. We, unfortunately, lost one of our hens but we have a drake with an injured wing and another* hen that can barely use her right leg but can't use her left leg at all. The...
My girl Maisy has not been herself for over 24hours. Either standing or laying, not eating and barely drinking. I’ve tried yogurt, dog food, peas, greens, oyster shell, layers feed, meal worms… she has no interest. Her poop is all water. There is no fecal matter in it. She is drinking a bit, but...
Hello everyone, finally decided to join this community!
Turns out my 2 y.o. female duck can't walk after my heavy drake overbred her. This happened about a week ago, we found her inside their swimming pool, barely moving. Took her out and both have been separated since then.
She had some...
hi! my one and a half year old female fawn runner had a normal poop (blue from blueberries lol) and something small, yellow and slimy came out with it. i thought upon first looking that it was a small slug, because it looks and feels like one, but she hasn't eaten any slugs that i know of (we've...
So, I have three ducks and they live in a cage which I modified for them to live easily. Today, I gave them their breakfast and came back. I heard some noises and went to see what happened. One of my ducks bill was injured and bleeding. I brought it inside to understand what happened. So a piece...
i have a duckling that’s around 4 weeks old and they were doing perfectly fine up until i came home from a trip this weekend. i came home and got them out of the cage i have them in and it was just laying or sitting down. i tried to get it to stand up but it wouldn’t. when it did it just fell...
Please help! I have 4 duck eggs. One of them externally pipped and took 48 hours to start making progress. Shortly after this, the duck died, so I think I should have intervened earlier.
Right now, only one of the three has externally pipped. He pipped about 18 hours ago, but hasn’t made...
Sadly my duck Emmy (she's 3) took a tumble and broke her left leg/femer. The vet said I might be able to find a local vet to put a pin in her leg or the other option is amputation. I know birds have a hard time going under for surgery. I'm hoping her leg can be fixed, but is it too risky? Should...
