    First Ever Hatch!

    i didn’t plan to hatch but my girl Phoebe had other ideas! She hid herself quite a large little nest of 11 eggs! We had five hatch, 4 not fertile, 1 die hatching and 1 die about day 14. Mum has done so well and now her sister has her own little clutch of five! So we are doing it all over...

    Silkie laid her first eggs!

    Yesterday, we found out one of the two silkie hens laid three eggs in the nest-box. Today I found her already setting on them. I feel so proud, haha. I know a lot of chickens just lay eggs wherever at first, but she knew exactly what to do! Eggies Dad pic
