I have a young hen that went broody and is now sitting on a nest in the tall grass of my ditch. I thought she was dead, but she showed up to eat and now temps are supposed to drop below freezing, should I move her? Or will she be ok? I've never had broody hen before and dont want her to get hurt.
Hi, I know there are a few threads here already discussing this subject, but they all seem to be about young chickens.
Let me introduce my flock as this could be part of the problem; I have six Swedish Flower Hens, 1 dominant rooster + 3 hens (1 1/2 yr old) and two hens that are only 5 months...
Help please,
My Emden goose has laid her first egg today. However, it's out in the flowerbed, not in the safety of the coop. Does she plan to sit out there all night once she has a clutch? Sounds like Coyote bait to me. Any solution to force nest? Appreciate any advice.
